      The Pakistan State Bank  (SBP) has a long and remarkable tradition of providing fresh currency certificates for Eid UL Fitr. In 2023,  SBP continued this practice by distributing new bills worth Rs 27 billion in approximately 17,000 business areas nationwide. This initiative was supplemented by the SMS service. This allowed citizens to book new notes by sending their Computer Assisted Citizen ID Card (CNIC)  and the desired bank Filicod code to 8877. After receiving the redemption code, individuals were able to collect  new notes assigned from the designated branch within the specified time period. However, in 2024, the SBP stopped the issue of Eid UL Fitr's fresh currency notes, which involves economic and political challenges, as the main reason for this decision. By March 2025,  SBP has  yet to announce plans  for the upcoming Eid UL Fitr new currency report issues. Historically, such an announcement is closer to the date of the festival. Therefore, we recommend monitoring official SBP communications and serious news sources for the latest information on this issue.
